The Company of Wolves

Tonight's game is arguably the biggest of the season. Actually, there's no argument about it is there? This is the big one. Our impressive 3-0 win back in in September at Molineux was significant for a number of reasons: suddenly we could win away from home, Wolves were now within reach after opening up a big gap at the top, and perhaps most significantly we sent a message to everyone that we were the team to beat this season. Since then it's been very much a three horse race between us, Bongo and Wolves. This is the third encounter of four with our closest rivals, and so far our record is 100%, we tonked the Bongo 3-1 in December to replace them in second place. Since the trip to St. Andrews in December we've just lost the one league game and although not played at the top of our game, in the main we've managed to get results. This game is significant for the current table positions of course, if we win they are within touching distance, if they win a decent gap opens up again, but also because I reckon the winners of this will go on to win the title. I also think that we'll both go up automatically, so make of that what you will.

So it's bound to end up in a draw ain't it?

You want team news? Likely to be Julian 'JK' Kelly in for L. Rosenior Junior with Murts out on loan at doomed Charlton. Then probably as you were if I know SC. Not enough detail? Go here then.

Got the result. Squeezing out 1-0 in a tight game is the form of champions!

Well some good performances last night, although still not anywhere near 100%. Kebe had perhaps his best game for us, battled for things and did his best not to fall over himself, I only noticed him doing this once 2 minutes from time. Thought Pearce was very good at CB, didn't put a foot wrong, in fact the whole makeshift defence did a magnificent job - Cisse filling in well when Doobs went off, Lorraine played ok, shaky first half but got better later on as his nerves calmed (although not convinced about him, seemed really lightweight and not great positionally). I guess if we keep picking up points playing like this then we'll be ok.
